Hope Away From Home: Ronald McDonald House Charities of South Dakota
The Ronald McDonald House at Sanford Hospital

The Ronald McDonald House at 825 South Lake Avenue near Sanford Health welcomed its first family January 12, 2010.

The 20,000 square foot House is a 18-bedroom home-away-from-home for families with sick and injured children. It was constructed by the helping hands of over 99 members of the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire (HBASE). This project was the associations largest community service project ever.

In addition to the labor, HBASE members donated thousands of dollars in cash and materials to the construction project. The HBASE received the esteemed South Dakota Builders Association 2009 Project of the Year Award for the construction of this Ronald McDonald House.
